Today I decided to do some couponing and to get some much needed groceries before the snow set in.
What I thought would be a 4 hour trip turned out to be an 6 hour trip. I did not factor in that some of the coupons I needed were in my husband's car at his work.
I also did not factor in the amount of time taken up by my son becoming possessed by a demon.
Now I've blogged on this before. I know that it takes about 2 hours for my children to become possessed once we've started shopping.
For some reason I was hoping that since I only had my son that the demons would not enter his body.
I was very wrong. At right around the 2 hour mark he started touching people. I don't mean walking up to them and touching them I mean he was walking along, dragging his fingers on the items on the shelf, and if a person was standing there he drug his fingers along them too.
This made for a very red faced mom! I was apologizing with a smile on my face while squeezing the bejabbers out of his arm as I held him behind me. Then when we walked into an unoccupied aisle I got on his level and gave him a firm warning. Where he cried and said he was sorry that he was starting over.
Then a few seconds later....he's doing it again. When I reach into my purse to pull out my handy dandy whipping spoon he promptly throws himself on the floor and creates a HUGE drama.
So I did what any mom would do....
I walked away and pretended he was someone else's kid.
A place to share struggles with children, finances, marriage.....life in general. I can be painfully honest on here. Each post I make is about something that has left a mark on me...emotionally, spiritually or even physically.

The most exciting thing to happen this week...
I got a new purse. Yup, that's how hum drum my life is. I'm excited over a purse. It's not a prada or anything like that. Just a cheapo Walmart purse. But it's new, and I have a purse fetish..so I'm happy right now.
I'm praying about some decisions I need to make regarding direct sales companies, so please pray for me as well.
I was out of power for 2 full days, and the health department would condemn my house right now, so I should be cleaning instead of blogging.
My DH got me roses for Valentines Day. My Drama Queen daughter looked at my roses, started crying and said - "But I didn't get anything for Valentines Day!" Luckily my mom had mailed her and my son a card, and my MIL had sent them stuff for Valentines Day. I'll give that to them in a bit and maybe she will be overjoyed.
Ok...here are my goals for February - I know we are already two weeks in but better late than never:
1. Master the art of couponing and actually grocery shop instead of just buy what we need.
2. Clean and purge my cupboards in my kitchen.
3. Burn my candles to prepare for the massive amount I'm going to get at my partylite party.
4. Lose 5 lbs.
5. Get my home out of C.H.A.O.S. (Can't Have Anyone Over Syndrome)
Bonus: Blog more often.

A random fact about me
I have to go to Discount Drug Mart (DDM) at least once a week. I have been doing this for the last 3 and 1/2 years. Most weeks I go to DDM, then also to a grocery store.
I spend roughly $50-$60 at DDM and $100 at the grocery store. Unless I missed the grocery store. On the week I skip the grocery store, I spend about $100 at DDM, and then the following week I spend about $150-$200 at the grocery store.
I know what you are all thinking...what the HELL are you spending so much money on?
Well here are things that I HAVE to have each week:
1) Diapers- appx. $9.99 for 34 diapers. Some weeks I have to buy 2 packs - 1 for my house, 1 for the sitter.
2) Wipes - appx. $6.99 - again, 1 for my house, 1 for the sitter. Sometimes I can skip a week on this item.
3) Kool-Aid - 7 packs for $2.00
4) Cereal - Roughly $1.99 per box - Generic DDM brand
5) Bread - $1.49 per loaf - 2 loafs per week.
6) Milk - $2.49-$3.99 per gal.
7) Dog food - $7.99 per 40lb bag - 1 bag lasts appx. 1 week.
8) Laundry Detergent - this is an every other week thing - $3.99, if I get it on sale
9) Sugar - I have no idea the price on this one, but I buy one every week, because we make so much tea and koolaid
Those are just my basic "must haves".
Then I make out my menu's for the following week, and buy whatever ingredients I need for those meals. I like to try new meals at least 4 times a week, and only try to eat out once a week at most.
So does everyone else do this, or am I putting more work into this than I should?
